Today, it features 41 hotel rooms, a restaurant serving locally inspired cuisine, a luxurious spa with multiple saunas, dedicated conference facilities, and a lively guest harbour welcoming visitors arriving by boat. Despite this growth, the team remains dedicated to delivering a personal, high-quality experience—something that requires seamless and efficient operations behind the scenes.

As guest expectations evolved, Kasnäs needed a modern booking system that could keep pace with its diverse offerings. Guests wanted a simple way to book online, while the team wanted a solution that could streamline operations, reduce manual workload, and ensure a smooth guest journey from reservation to check-out.

Now, guests can book directly on the website at their convenience. “We wanted to create a more modern and seamless experience where guests can book anytime, regardless of office hours, making it easier for both the guest and for us" Tanja Liljeqvist, Hotel Manager at Kasnäs explains.

Before implementing BookVisit, Kasnäs managed bookings manually, with confirmations written by hand. The reception team handled daily guest calls, resulting in long call times and challenges in attending to guests on-site. “A single call could take up to 27 minutes" says Tanja. “We needed a system that would allow us to free up time and focus on in-person service. While many of our older guests still prefer calling, we are seeing a growing trend of online bookings, and we believe this will only increase over time.”

Increased Sales and Improved Guest Service 

The implementation of BookVisit has delivered significant results. One of the most notable changes is the substantial increase in gift card sales, which are now seamlessly managed through the system.

“We used to sell gift cards manually, which required a lot of administration. "Now, customers can easily purchase experiences as gifts online,” explains Tanja. “It’s amazing how much this has grown, and we're able to highlight it at specific times of year, such as around Father's Day and at Christmas”.

Spa Hotel Kasnäs has become a beloved destination for business retreats and corporate events, with companies, associations, and large groups frequently choosing the resort for their gatherings. While the summer months are focused on leisure travellers, “Conferences are mainly held in May and June as well as in August and September, when businesses are about to go on, or are returning from holidays and begin planning and evaluating their activities," Tanja explains, highlighting how their facilities cater to both strategic meetings and team-building retreats.

At the same time, wellness-focused getaways have gained popularity, with more families and groups seeking a retreat into nature. "We have many families who come here to relax for a weekend, enjoy the spa, and dine together. We also have groups who book sauna experiences and meals with us," they share. Whether it’s a trip for the whole family, a special occasion, or a weekend escape, Kasnäs offers an experience that blends relaxation, high-quality dining, with the calmness of the Finnish archipelago.

Integration with VisBook and the Visit Group family 

Kasnäs also uses VisBook for hotel and restaurant operations. This has streamlined staff workflows by automating several administrative tasks. “It is now much easier to transfer orders from the point of sales in the restaurant to the hotel system”.

Moreover, Kasnäs has seen an increase in automated guest communication thanks to VisBook. “Previously,” Tanja explains, “we wrote confirmation emails manually. Now, VisBook generates professional confirmations instantly, reducing errors and saving us valuable time".

We were there together with my colleague Inke, and it was fantastic to meet others who use the same system, to learn about what works well, what challenges exist, and how others use it. You realize there are things you might not even be utilizing yet”

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Kasnäs aims to expand its reach to more international guests. “Currently, 95% of our visitors are domestic. We want to attract more guests from Sweden, Germany, and beyond. A seamless online booking experience is essential for this growth”.
